Summer is fast approaching and many homeowners will be looking to give their conservatories a fresh look by changing furniture, redecorating or installing trendy blinds.

For those planning to invest in new conservatory blinds, getting the right blinds is vital for a number of reasons, including getting the colours correct and choosing a product that is durable.

Blinds are available in a range of different styles and they are increasingly becoming a common feature in homes "as people opt for less
fussy and more sophisticated soft furnishings", according to specialist manufacturer Thomas Sanderson.

Although the same blinds can be used throughout the home, it is advisable to get a different set for glazed extensions as conservatory blinds are specifically designed to cope with exposure to heat and light radiation.

Domestic blinds are not suitable for orangeries, conservatories or sunrooms because they can be easily damaged by the sun and degrade in such an environment.
